Kryolan Interferenz Duochrome Six Color Palette

First impression: These smell so good! At first when I opened the package I thought it might have contained a perfume sample, but I also have a sensitive nose, so I don't think the fragrance is that strong overall. I've had Kryolan Aquacolors before, but this was my first encounter with the shimmery Interferenz line, which has a scent the other aquacolors do not. The scent of these is reminiscent of baby powder -  I wasn't expecting that when I ordered this palette, but it was a nice surprise.

Smell or no smell, I am a total sucker for all things shimmer, metallic and duochrome, so I had to have this palette.

The paints are housed in the typical Kryolan metal flip-top container, complete with wells in the lid for mixing, space for a brush or two, and the standard pop-out function for each of the paints.

The colors that came in this palette are:

Interferenz Silver -  This has a more pearlescent finish rather than a metallic one, and the color is closer to white than silver to me. I see pinks, blues, and yellows in the shimmer. Application is a little thinner on this than the others in the palette, but it can be built up. This would be a good one to layer over a matte color to create a frosty effect.

Mozart Pink - Vibrant rose with golden shimmer. This one is definitely more of a duochrome, and it is ridiculously lovely. Colors like this really compliment blue or green eyes.

Strauss Wine - This is a stunning iridescent fuchsia with blue-violet shimmer. I've seen colors like this before, but I never get tired of them.

GB - Shimmering turquoise. The base and the shimmer are very similar colors, so it's not exactly a duochrome as others in the set are, but it is definitely iridescent. I'm sure it would look awesome on top of a black base.

Verdi Gold - An iridescent olive-gold that resembles aged metal. It's a striking color, more beautiful in person that on camera.

Interferenz Gold - Like the silver, it's more pearlescent than metallic. The hue is a sunny yellow, and not exactly gold. I think there's a rosy tone in the shimmer, which adds depth and interest. The picture I took doesn't really capture it, sadly.

Swatches!

From R to L: Mozart Pink, Strauss Wine, GB, Verdi Gold, Interferenz Gold, Interferenz Silver

These apply a bit more thinly than the regular matte Aquacolors, I would say they are in between the consistency of those and Kryolan's UV-Dayglow line (the thinnest).

These smudge a bit when first applied, but minimally when dry. As you would expect with Kryolan, they are very pigmented and have excellent staying power once dry. Using a fixative or final seal spray would maximize longevity, of course.

I left these swatches on my arm all day and they were still there when I was getting ready for bed! They did come off pretty easily with soap and water when it was time to wash up, thankfully.

Overall, I would say this is a great palette for both those into beauty makeup and body art. The color range included is nice, the colors are buildable, and they last!
